Kita Ukita Hiroseikaku : Takakura shrine
ADDRESS: 17 imasumaeda, kitaukita, ajigasawa-town, nishi-tsugaru gun, Aomori-prefecture
In 1689, the headman of Ukita village built a small hall called Kita Ukita Kannon-do, enshrining Holy Kanzeon Bodhisattva. At the time of its construction, there was also a gorgeous Kagura hall with a thatched roof. After that, the name was changed to Hiryu-gu Shrine, but it was abolished due to the separation of Buddhism and Shintoism in the Meiji period, and was renamed to Takakura-jinja Shrine. In 1966, the Kannondo was rebuilt by local volunteers.
