When it was first built in 1620, the principal object of worship was the Eleven-Faced Kannon, but it was later replaced by the Thousand-Armed Kannon. No detailed history is left. Due to the separation of Shintoism and Buddhism in the Meiji period, the temple was abolished and the principal image was presented. Later, when Kumano Shrine was built, the statue of Kannon hidden by the villagers was enshrined and enshrined. After that, the main hall was newly built and the statue of Kannon was newly enshrined in the old worship hall, and it was named Idofumon-do.
